Selection Process in Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026

  1. Merit list: prepared state-wise, in descending order of your marks in 12th standard (HSC / 10+2) or Diploma. If marks are equal, the older candidate ranks higher.
  2. Minimum marks: 60% in 12th or Diploma (55% for SC/ST/PwBD). Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% counts as below 60%.
  3. Document verification: the Tamil language test, if applicable, is also held at this stage.
  4. Medical fitness: you must be declared medically fit as per the bank’s requirement.

The merit list is prepared only from the details you enter in the online application. If the documents do not match at verification, your application will be disqualified. If you get CGPA instead of a percentage, you must convert it and attach a conversion certificate from the board or university.

A state-wise and category-wise waitlist is kept for one year, or until the next engagement, whichever is earlier. A candidate is released from the waitlist only once, against non-joining, subject to availability.

If you do not get the email and SMS with your registration number, treat your application as not registered. An application with a missing photo, signature, thumb impression or declaration, or with an unsuccessful fee payment, will be rejected.

Documents Needed at the Time of Engagement

Keep originals plus self-attested photocopies of these ready for verification:

  • System-generated printout of your online application
  • Proof of date of birth (birth certificate or SSLC/10th certificate)
  • Photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence or other statutory photo ID)
  • Mark sheets and certificates from SSLC onwards to your final degree, including semester-wise mark sheets
  • Caste certificate in the Government of India format for SC/ST/OBC. OBC candidates need a valid non-creamy layer certificate.
  • Income and Asset Certificate for EWS candidates
  • UDID card and disability certificate for PwBD candidates
  • Any other document supporting your eligibility

Tips for Applicants

  • Complete your NATS profile first. It takes the most time, and you cannot apply without a 100% complete profile.
  • Match your name to your 10th mark sheet exactly. Any mismatch can disqualify you.
  • Do not apply on the last day. The bank warns that heavy traffic can make the website slow or unreachable near the deadline.
  • Submit only one application. If you submit more than one, only the latest valid complete one is kept.
  • Be honest in the form. Wrong information can cancel your candidature, even after you have joined.
  • Rely only on official sources. The bank says it is not responsible if you act on wrong information from unofficial websites or social media.
  • Submitting the application does not mean you have met all the criteria. The application can be rejected at any later stage if you are found ineligible.
